TikTok's algorithm can push a video to a wide audience within hours, and the platform's duet and stitch features let other users build entirely new videos on top of an original defamatory clip — multiplying reach and making a single takedown request insufficient to address the full spread. Videos are also frequently deleted quickly by their creators once they generate backlash or attention from the target.
